About Us

Jorvine

Jorvine is an independent wine shop, with a Tasting Lounge, Garden Room and private Courtyard at the rear. With an extensive selection of wines from around the world, boasting over 400 wines. Available to buy in our shop, drink in our tasting lounge, and to purchase online for local or national delivery.

Founded in 2021, by us, Kris and Jess and born from a passion we both share; sourcing and sharing some of the best wines the world has to offer. We love to talk about wine, share our insights and knowledge of excellent wine to the city of York and beyond.

Tasting Room

Our Tasting Room is simply a beautiful environment to enjoy good wine, you can do this a number of ways….

1. Tasting flight – Create your own wine flight or let us recommend something beautiful for you to enjoy. Whether its red, white, rosé or sparkling; we have it all to choose from. Even some wild & wonderful choices that you may not have tried before.

2. Wine by the glass - Relax and enjoy a few glasses (or a bottle) of wine from our extensive wine list. We have something for everyone and can advise as much or as little as you would like. After all, wine is to drink, not just to talk about!!.

3. Monthly Tasting Events – These exclusive events are delivered and presented by wine experts from around the world; giving you an intimate experience into their world of wine. Soaking up the atmosphere with good company, great wine and food paired perfectly by us. Wine producers from the UK, France, Australia and many more countries have attended in person and we are super proud to say these events are exceptional.

4. Private Wine Tasting - Exclusive access to one of Jorvine's experts in wine for 2 hours. Taste 6 wines, enjoy the story behind the grape and immerse yourselves into the world of wine; with cheese and charcuterie to accompany. To access private tastings, please book either via email, phone or in person. Minimum party of 4 people.

5. Private Venue Hire - We offer our space for private hire for many different occasions. Please get in touch via email / phone call or pop in and we can discuss the options.

Food & Nibbles

We have a great selection of food to pair perfectly with your wine. Authentic Italian meats, cheeses and dressings, plus locally sourced Yorkshire cheese and breads.

Fancy a sandwich? - enjoy a Haxby bakehouse focaccia packed full of a meat and cheese of your choice**

Served with Pipers crisps.

Added little extras include delicious olives, truffle & pecorino nuts and much more...

*charcuterie and cheese boards to take away is pre order only.

**choice of one of our Italian cured meats and one of the cheeses to make your focaccia sandwich.

Food is served until 8pm Tuesday, 9pm Weds - Sat & 6pm on Sunday

Wine & More

We have a passion for all types of wine, so we have something for everyone and every occasion, be it a cosy night in or a big celebration. All the wine here at Jorvine has been tried and tasted by us…it’s a hard job! We have even visited the vineyards the wine comes from, so we have an insight and a story to go with each bottle.

It's not only wine we stock at Jorvine,. We have an amazing selection of locally produced Gin, Whisky, Liqueurs, Craft Beers and Ales too, so there really is something for everyone, but of course wine does take centre stage!
